ESPORTSLAB will support Dr Pepper Academy in their newest project.
ELAB will support Dr Pepper Academy project in the large esports talent identification process.
At the beginning of April, we announced a long-term partnership with Dr Pepper Academy. ELAB’s innovative research and technologies will be used to identify the best most talented players for the project.
We recognize the need to improve the process of selecting players for teams. Based on the experience gained in cooperation in player recruitment projects conducted by x-kom AGO and Cleantmix organizations, we want to transfer the proven and solutions to a much larger scale. As part of our cooperation with Dr Pepper we support the player selection process at every stage of the project.

“One of the major bottlenecks in esports talent identification is the availability of experienced coaches and analysts. The number of players taking part in such recruitment processes is too large to allow for thoughtful selection. Organizations usually fall back to well-established performance data, but most of the performance metrics in use are heavily influenced by teammates' actions. That is where ELAB's technology shines through. In the first recruitment stage, we will provide Dr Pepper Academy team with precise measures of players' individual skills level. Next, with a selected group of youngsters, we will move to ELAB's laboratories to shed even more light on their talent for professional esports. This is great opportunity for our company to be able to scale up our novel approach to talent identification in esports.” - commented Maciek Skorko, the founder and General Manager of esportsLAB.
ELAB’s Research Manager Bartek Kurczab explained how the second stage of the cooperation will look like:
"We will welcome the selected group of players the in the ELAB laboratories in Warsaw. During two days, players will go through a research process consisting of mental, cognitive, and physical stages.
The mental part will consist of personality, temperament, and mental health examination. This information will help you get to know the people involved in the recruitment process better.
The cognitive part consists of tasks that players will solve through special computer programs. Their results will help determine individual players' level of memory, attention, perception, and motor skills. The values of those indicators are closely related to the results achieved in the game environment.
The last part of the research is the examination of physical health. Thanks to this stage of the research, ELAB’s scientists will gain information about the players' condition, physical activity, and posture.
At the very end, the Dr Pepper Academy staff, based on the obtained indicators, will make decisions regarding the promotion of players to the subsequent phases of elimination."
We invite you to follow the Dr Pepper Academy project. We will keep you informed about its progress and our activities supporting the process of selecting the best players.
